Entering and participating in photography contests allows me to obtain feedback and critiques of the work I have done to improve and enhance my abilities.  This is one aspect that drives and motivates me to learn about photography.  These contests allow me to see the work of others and can provide inspiration for future work.  This type of professional feedback and criticism reminds me and encourages me that complacency in work should not be permitted, by wanting to learn and develop skills that will improve my talent.
